The World Scouting motto is that Scouts should aim to “Create a Better World”.
In Ireland we can play our part by getting involved in the One World Week, 23rd-29th November 2020. This week encourages young people to act to better the world around them for people and the environment. Here are a few resources to get you started on a 4 Week Programme Cycle to understand your community better and how you can help others in it.
When you get involved in One World week you can achieve Special Interest Badges and more specifically – Community or Environment badges. These also make up part of the Chief Scout Award. Download our 4 Week Cycle ideas below to work towards your badge! They are designed to provide ideas on actions you could take in service to others in your local or global community.
Where to start:
1. Pick your badge!
2. Download there Community Survey to notice what is around you, what your community need is before before deciding what action to take!
3. Plan you action in your weekly meetings and complete your action during One World Week!
4. Log you action in the project form here
All activities and ideas suggested can be carried out outdoors or adapted virtually. Please check here for our COVID FAQs
